Domestic Airlines in the Philippines
Booking flights in the Philippines is quite easy and quick. Additionally, unlike many countries, you don't really have to book so far ahead to get a good rate. You may usually stop by the airport for a ticking office or in most malls there are travel services which will take care of it for you.
Timing - be forewarned that despite any published details, you flight may be delayed or cancelled on a regular basis. Information is hard to come by at the airports and so when travelling to the airport for your flight you might take along some snacks in case yours is also delayed!
Payment is normally accepted by cash, local credit cards and "some" international credit cards. Check in advance to save any stress before you book!
Terminal Fee's
For International departures the airport charges a "terminal fee" of P750 (or USD Equivalent) per passenger, before you enter the immigration area. There are no ATM's in the check-in area, so be sure to have the cash ready before you're in the pre-departure area.
For domestic departures the terminal fee is P200 per passenger.
Known exclusions to the fee include:
- Children two (2) years old and below, but without any airline ticket
- Overseas Contract Workers
- Passengers Denied Entry
- Airline Crew
- Diplomats
- Athletes officially endorsed by the Philippine Sports Commission
- Deportees
- Muslim Passengers travelling to Mecca on Haj
